What does it mean if an orange flame appears on a gas stove?

The next time you light the stove, pay close attention to the flames.

Gas stoves can harbor certain hidden risks, one of which concerns air quality.

However, regardless of air quality, you should also keep an eye on the color of the flames.

According to experts, the flames from a gas stove are typically blue, though slight traces of other colors may also be visible.

For instance, a slight whiteness at the top of a blue natural gas flame is normal, just as a faint yellowish tint accompanying the blue flame of LPG is also normal.

However, when the greater part of the flame is a different color, it is a definite indication that something is wrong.

So, why is the color of the flame blue?

Blue flames indicate the complete combustion of natural gas.

Natural gas consists primarily of methane; when it burns correctly in your stove, the fuel is fully converted into heat, water vapor, and carbon dioxide.

The flames appear blue because the light produced during the combustion process has a short wavelength.

So, what does an orange flame signify?

If the stove’s flame is predominantly orange, it indicates that combustion is incomplete; this often results from a dirty stove, dust or moisture in the air, clogged burner ports, insufficient airflow, or a faulty burner.

While not every instance signals a serious problem, the stove should be inspected if the flame consistently shows a yellow, red, or orange hue.

This is because a persistent yellow or orange flame suggests incomplete combustion and a potential risk of carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide is a colorless and odorless gas that can pose a threat to life.

Beyond that, however, an orange flame indicates excessive gas wastage; this results in higher gas bills and also compromises the indoor air quality of the home.

Laiba suicide case: Details emerge revealing the accused used ChatGPT for fraud.

In the Laiba Aijaz suicide case, it has been revealed that the accused used ChatGPT to deceive the student.

According to police sources, the initial interrogation of the prime suspect, Noman, has been completed. The investigation revealed that Noman had been an employee of the Anti-Corruption Department for 15 years until 2022, when he was dismissed due to absenteeism. He subsequently worked as a manager at various insurance companies and joined an insurance firm in the Blue Area in 2025.

Police sources state that the accused first made contact in March 2023 when Laiba applied for an internship at an insurance company; the accused, who needed staff, reached out to her. Although Laiba met with Numan, she could not join the office due to her tutoring commitments; however, the accused later hired Laiba, her sister, and her mother for tuck-shop advertising work.

According to sources, a girl named Aiza managed a tuck shop and provided goods to Laiba, her sister, and her mother; Aiza’s brother lived in the United States. Laiba asked Noman to help secure a US visa for Aiza, and Noman promised to arrange it through Aiza’s brother. He then created a fake account posing as Aiza and began communicating with Laiba.

Sources state that the accused used ChatGPT to impersonate both Aiza and her brother. Noman sent various documents to Laiba, who did not suspect anything amiss. He provided a series of interview dates—first September 1st, then September 17th, and finally September 26th. Laiba eventually became suspicious and verified the documents, only to discover they were fake.

According to sources, Laiba had given Noman the proceeds from the sale of a plot worth 2.1 million rupees, as well as her stepmother’s jewelry; she was under pressure to return the jewelry. Laiba told Noman that the matter of the remaining money could be settled later but insisted he return her stepmother’s jewelry. Subsequently, Noman began ignoring Laiba and cut off contact with her; unable to find a way out of the situation, Laiba committed suicide.

Police sources suspect that the accused, Noman, has defrauded several other women as well. Having had time before his arrest, Noman deleted all data from his mobile phone; however, authorities plan to recover the data through forensic analysis to identify further victims.
